Join the Mayor’s Advisory Committee on the Mayor’s Office of LGBTQ Affairs (MAC) to discuss priorities and help address issues affecting LGBTQIA+ residents. The MAC will also be swearing in new Committee members and be joined by special guest Acting Chief of Police, Pamela Smith. Please look for MOLGBTQA staff who will be there to direct you to the correct location.

Meeting Agenda:

1.           Welcome and introductions: Chair Trang Nguyen

2.           Swearing-in of committee members: MOTA representative

3.           Special guest: Acting Chief of Police Pamela Smith - ask Chief Smith to share her priorities for her first year in office, and any specific observations and messages for the LGBTQIA+ community followed by Q&A

4.           Report from MOLGBTQA: Director Japer Bowles – ask Director Bowles to share:

•       Highlights of the Office’s achievements in 2023

•       Challenges that the MAC should be aware of

•       Specific requests from the Director/Office for support from MAC: Director Bowles will share specific “asks” that he and the team need our support with.

•       Q&A, and MAC Members should be prepared to respond and make commitments depending on the asks.

5.           World Pride 2025 high level briefing: Director Japer Bowles

6.           Briefing on key upcoming events/dates: MOLGBTQA

7.           Community input

8.           MAC Administrative Matters: frequency of meetings, expectations, norms, etc.
