Dismissal of OMA Complaint for Lack of Jurisdiction #OOG-2026-0006

On August 27, 2026, the Director of Open Government dismissed this Open Meetings Act Complaint (#OOG-2026-0006) because the issues complained of were not within the Director's jurisdiction. The complaint concerned the District of Columbia Pedestrian Advisory Council (the "Council") and the conduct of an individual thought to be a member of the Council. Upon investigation, the Office of Open Government ("OOG") determined that the organization in question was not the Council, but rather a private entity. OOG determined that this private entity is not a public body and is not subject to the Open Meetings Act ("OMA"). Therefore the complaint was dismissed pursuant to 3 DCMR § 10403.1(a).
